The Down Syndrome Superhero Book Reading and Product Launch
Loudoun County— February 24, 2022 — Today, Author Eugene Tossany steps up as a community pillar and advocate amongst the Down Syndrome community. The launch of her second book, The Down Syndrome Superhero 2, and customized product, have positioned her as a champion advocate for World Down Syndrome Day (Mar 21, 2022). Books one and two are available on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com, as well as all good bookstores. Eugene’s branded product is available on cafepress.com with apparel, accessories, and stationery.

About the Product
​
The Down Syndrome Superhero series is about a Down Syndrome teenager, Josie, her Shih Tzu Zeke, a feisty hummingbird, and her mysterious neighbor, Cilantra. Josie’s DNA is activated when she finds a talisman that opens a portal above her town. She can suddenly communicate with earth, with the help of a talking hummingbird and her powerful chromosome 21. She soon realizes their town is in danger from being attacked by a malignant species called Sashima/Sashimi. The series highlights Josie’s crew and their plight to cross dimensions, universes, and hidden lairs to release earth from Sashimi’s terrible grasp. The Down Syndrome Superhero 3 is in production and slated for a 2022 release in the U.K. and U.S.

About the Author
Eugene Tossany resides in Loudoun County with her Down Syndrome daughter and stubborn Shih Tzu. She supports the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia (DSANV) initiatives and has donated autographed books to former down syndrome Miss USA Minnesota pageant contestant, Mikayla Holmgren. Eugene also contributes literary articles and essays to local magazine publications, such as Tysons Premier. On World Down Syndrome Day, Eugene will read excerpts from her book, The Down Syndrome Superhero 2, at Ridgetop Coffee and Tea, in Sterling, VA. A portion of all proceeds (5%) from World Down Syndrome Day sales will go to DSANV for charitable efforts. From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST), Eugene will stream the book reading on her Instagram page and encourage a question and answer session from her teenage/sci-fi audience.
